Earthquake in Japan: Alitalia offers special flights

Alitalia sta operando integralmente tutti i collegamenti con il Giappone, operati  da Roma e da Milano, pari a 18 frequenze settimanali, senza operare alcuna cancellazione.  

La capacità dei voli Alitalia resta adeguata alla domanda e vi sono posti disponibili per il rientro dal Giappone. 

Per garantire la massima regolarità dei collegamenti sul Giappone, in coordinamento con l’Unità di Crisi della Farnesina è stato deciso che i voli verranno operati esclusivamente sull’aeroporto di Osaka. Per agevolare lo spostamento a Osaka dei passeggeri Alitalia in possesso di prenotazione da Tokyo la Compagnia ha previsto un rimborso fino a 130 euro. Alitalia sta informando tutti i propri passeggeri prenotati sui voli da e per Tokyo delle modifiche dell’operativo dei voli.  

Per favorire il rientro dei passeggeri senza prenotazione, Alitalia ha inoltre introdotto una tariffa speciale agevolata go show pari a 90.000 yen (circa 800 euro) in classe economica e di 220.000 yen (circa 1.750 euro) in classe business, indipendentemente dalle classi tariffarie disponibili e applicabile a tutti i posti non prenotati.

Alitalia invita i propri passeggeri dei voli da e per il Giappone a consultare lo stato del volo online, chiamando il numero verde 800.65.055 o contattando il call center Alitalia al numero 06.2222.

A tutti i passeggeri in  possesso di prenotazione confermata e di biglietto emesso sui voli da e per Tokyo fino al 31 marzo è consentito, entro il 31 marzo, il cambio di prenotazione o di itinerario senza penale. E’ consentito il rimborso dei biglietto nel caso di voli previsti fra l’11 e il 18 marzo.

Finnair: Pre-Order your meal

As of 10 March 2011 Business Class passengers can order their main meal in advance for intercontinental flights - an example of how Finnair aims to respond to customer expectations with open-minded, innovative solutions.
"We are renewing our service identity and want to make our service boldly distinctive. Our service concept 'Designed for You' means that we offer a package suitable for every customer," says Finnair's Senior Vice President, Customer Service Anssi Komulainen.

Passengers can choose from three different menu options: Wellness and Energy (offering wellbeing and peace of mind), Food Lover’s Treat (wholesome home-cooked food) or Chef’s Gourmet (high-level gourmet cuisine).

Orders can be placed at the earliest 14 days and at the latest 24 hours before departure. Meals can be ordered online at  www.finnair.com via the 'Manage my booking' link.

Lufthansa: New First Class (Boeing 747-400)

From May 2011 the Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 will welcome you with new First Class seats and twice as much room for each passenger. Eight comfortable, generously sized seats and separate beds will make it easy for you to arrive at your destination feeling relaxed and rested.

Configuration

By winter 2011, ten B747-400s will be fitted with new First Class seats and fixed, separate beds. On all the remaining Lufthansa B747-400s, the seating capacity in First Class will be reduced from 16 seats to eight with effect from May 2011. This will enable passengers to enjoy twice as much room and more exclusivity within the current board configuration as the seat next to them will be kept free.

Cathay Pacific & WestJet: New Codeshare Agreement

4 October 2010

Cathay Pacific Airways and WestJet today announced they will begin a new code-share arrangement with immediate effect, providing passengers with a wider choice and greater connectivity when travelling between Hong Kong and Canada. Bookings for the code-share are now open for travel from 20 October 2010.

Under the new arrangement, Cathay Pacific’s “CX” code will be placed on WestJet flights between Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa and Winnipeg and the Hong Kong carrier’s two Canadian gateways, Toronto and Vancouver.

WestJet, which pioneered low-cost flying in Canada, currently operates a modern fleet of 90 Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft offering scheduled services throughout its 71-city network in North America and the Caribbean. It offers increased legroom, leather seats and live seatback television on all its flights.
